Kyber Cosmic League, season 6, round 3: Nébal (First Order) vs Nicholas Rorich (First Order)

Publié le par Nébal

Kyber Cosmic League, season 6, round 3! And a new battle report in English. Of course, I’m French, so I’m genetically designed to speak and write an awful English… Please be kind!

In this league, there are precisely 200 players, dispatched in 50 pools or pods of four players. There’s a round robin within pods, with one game a week. Then, after three weeks, new pods are drawn. And then you repeat that once again, for a total of three pods and nine rounds. Lists are extended format, and they are not locked, they can be changed whenever you want.

I have been assigned to pool 46; they tried to organize pods according to time zones, so that match coordination would be easier. For this third and final round of the first pod, I have been paired with Nicholas, a very nice player from South Africa, who brought the following First Order list, a Malarus swarm:

Xi-class Light Shuttle•Commander Malarus – 49

•Commander Malarus – Vindictive Taskmaster (45)

Proud Tradition (2)

•Protectorate Gleb (2)

TIE/fo FighterEpsilon Squadron Cadet – 25

Epsilon Squadron Cadet (25)

Total: 199/200

As for myself, well, I brought my Malarus TIE/fo swarm… but a slightly different one from previous games, a lighter one we could say, with a small bid, by getting rid of Automated Target Priority on my Cadets

•Agent Terex (7)

•Hondo Ohnaka (6)

Two Malarus… and 11 TIE/fo Fighters on the board.

That’s a lot.

Now to the game.

BEWARE: RIGHT AFTER THIS OMINOUS DARTH VADER PICTURE, I WILL REVEAL HOW THE GAME TURNED OUT. IF YOU DON’T WANT SPOILERS, WATCH THE VIDEO BEFORE READING FURTHER!

Victory for the First Order! Well, yeah, obviously… Victory for the Malarus swarm! Well, yeaaaaaaaaah, Nébal, is that very old and very bad joke really necessary? Ok: victory for my Malarus swarm! 125-100, a close one once again… That game was exhausting, but a lot of fun as well, and very, very brutal. I liked it very much, and Nicholas was a wonderful opponent. GG and the best of luck for the remainder of the tournament!

Sadly, our good friend Kaplan and I couldn’t play our match for week 2, and he had to concede the game to me (100-0)… Too bad, I really hoped we could play together… That also means, weirdly, that I won the pod, being 3-0. Not in the best conditions, though, as I have played only two games instead of three… And with a very, very tiny MoV.

The second pod will be drawn for next week, and we’ll see what happens there… See you soon!
